Pet Rock Info

If you can’t have a dog or cat, there’s always the trustworthy pet rock. Of course, you need to know how to care for it. Here’s how.

CONGRATULATIONS! You are the owner of a new pet rock. This charming friend has traveled eons of time to find you.
Name your rock. Choose something suitable, that you can easily remember - it would be embarrassing if people noticed that you kept changing its name. You can look at its appearance or think where it came from for ideas.
Give your pet rock a home. Find a box of any size (preferably not too small), and furnish it. Put in a carpet, tables, chairs, anything in your own home that you can easily make for your rock. Beware that things may get easily damaged, so be very careful with the house and furniture or don't spend too much time making it. Reward your pet for good behavior by giving it luxury items such as spas, TVs and plenty of toys. Toys can be made out of pompoms and pipe cleaners. A teddy bear made out of brown pompoms and given googly eyes is an excellent gift for a well behaved rock.
Take your pet rock for rides in the car. Rocks love to see the world! As they are usually sedentary and spend their lives in the same place they were born, they really like a change of scene. Whether it's a trip to Burbank or Santorini, they really have fun! Remember to put the window down a little for some fresh air.
Remember and celebrate the rock's birthday. Note the date you found your rock in a diary so you can remember. Tea parties are nice, but they really enjoy someone special serenading them with the Birthday Song. Don't forget to add your pet's name in the right places!
Entertain your rock. Rocks can be a good companion. Rocks are excellent company when watching scary movies, as they have a steady presence. They are also waterproof, so if you see a tearjerker or a surfing movie, you don't need to worry. Rocks also enjoy playing games, reading books and being trained.
Let your pet help you write better screenplays. ,They are exceptionally good listeners, and won't offer too much criticism. They are also excellent helpers while doing revision (they can make sure your screenplays don't fly away)
Second to last but not least, pet rocks need lots of love and attention. They love to cuddled at night and NEED kisses to survive. If you want your pet rock to live a long life, then you need to love it.
Pet rocks need to be washed regularly and MUST be dried with dryers or by the sun or a towel.
Make sure that their face will not wash off when you are cleaning them. It is recommended that you use Sharpie or some other form of permanent marker to ensure this.
Decorate your rock with WHATEVER you like!!!!

Give it a tiny leash and a bed to sleep beside your own pet rock. It may also require dinner bowls and your pet rock will need to take it out for regular walks. Maybe you could take both of them out for a walk. Pet pet rocks are good, because they teach your pet how to look after its own pet. As Pet rocks are smarter than most normal pets (dogs, cats etc.), they will actually take care of the pet pet rock so long as you teach it how.

Don't spend so much time with your rock that you become antisocial with real people - balance is good

There is a girl on a pet rock forum (link here: http://board.pets-buynow.com/Exotic_Pets/PET_ROCKS_NEW_FORUM?pg=8) named Biggles. Her pet rock, Pert, died. here is his story from what i know!
FINDING PERT!
Me,my brother, and my mom were going to the animal rescue center so my my brother could get a cat since he seemed responsible enough to care for one. I looked longingly around, and thought "I don't want a cat, I want a pet rock because they are smarter and a lot more unique." To my pleasure, i saw a sign that said "abused rocks waiting for loving homes, in the back room on the left back corner." I went to the back room to see the rocks, and i fond them. they're were about 20 rocks in several cages. I looked at each and every rock. at the bottom of their cages they're was a note on how they were abused, who they were abused by, and how they winded up in the animal rescue center. i saw a rock I liked , the note on the bottom of the cage said "i was abused by an old man. He kicked me, slapped me, hit me, and starved me. I couldn't take it anymore, so i ran away. I was found by a young boy, maybe 6 or 7 years old after running away for about 60 miles. He was just as worst of the old man. He didn't know how take care of me, so he stared me, didn't keep me clean so i got very ill, didn't give me a bed to sleep on, and since he thought i was just a toy, tormented me by skipping me on lakes, throwing me up and land on the hard dirt, and much more. i ran away from him to. Someone found me and put me right in this cage about 2 months ago." i felt so, so sorry for the little rock, so I knew immediately I should bring him home, and I knew how to take care of him properly. He was such a cute rock too, I couldn't bear to see him stay here any longer. So I took him home, cleaned him, feed him, and gave him a place to sleep. The young rock knew, by then, he had found the PERFECT owner. (TOLD FROM BIGGLES' PERSPECTIVE. all credit for this story goes to oskar the animal lover (oskarandraymond.viviti.com)

Biggles was walking in her yard, and Pert slipped out of her pocket! she looked for two days, and she didnt find him! Then, she walked into a ditch, and THERE WAS PERT! he was cold, hungry and scared because a thunderstorm happened a few hours ago! Pert heard wolves howling too! but Biggles took him inside, and she cared for him, and he was all better again!
PERT DIES! :'(
Pert was sitting on Biggles' desk, when he fell down and got sucked up by her moms vaccum cleaner! Biggles tried to get Pert, but her mom wouldnt let her and Pert was shattered to bits and left in the trash! Then, the garbage people came and took the trash, so Pert could never be found again!
